APPLICATION Members of Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church, unit of the
Morehead Sub-District, New Bern Sub-District, would like to nominate Georgia
Springle Mrs. Georgia Springle has been for many years a strong and active member of the United Methodist Women. While serving in positions of leadership she was a dedicated and inspirational leader. She was able to elicit eager and supportive cooperation of UMW members. She was never satisfied with simple compliance with basic requirements for various UMW efforts. Mrs. Springle always urged her group to excel. She was a willing and able confidant counselor, first to offer prayerful comfort to members that were devastated by grief and provided all possible assistance. Mrs. Springle also enjoyed their celebrations and blessings. During those rare periods when she was not in an elected responsible position in UMW she remained a strong supporter and eager worker in all UMW programs. Through her long and devoted membership at the Franklin Memorial UMC she has been tasked and gladly responded to several offices in the church. She served as chair of Ecumenical Affairs, Worship Committee Chair 2 different times. Mrs. Springle taught Sunday School for more than forty years. Mrs. Springle's strong faith and devotion to her church helped her to endure the loss of her husband and the protracted suffering and death of her son Mike. Failing health in recent years has required her to scale back some of her efforts. She no longer teaches Sunday School but is present every Sunday and is serving as a role model for young church members. Mrs. Georgia Springle has certainly served the United Methodist Women
well in many capacities and jobs throughout the years, and the United
Methodist Women at Franklin Memorial feel she is very well qualified for
the UMW of the Year. |
