For each leg of the sign a 18" x 18" x 4' former was
built. The bolts and reinforcing steel will be in 4 feet of Concrete!!

This photo shows the metal jig that was made to hold all the bolts
in alignment while the concrete was being poured.

Thirty 80lb bags of redi-mix cement was used. This
mixer was rented to aid in the process. It was powered by an 8 hp Honda
motor because Pete refused to operate a hand cranked machine.

The footings after pouring. Here you can see the steel jig used
to hold everything in place.

Phew....this concrete work is tough.
Nothing left to do but wait for it to set.

|
The sign was around back on pallets. It had arrived a few weeks
earlier by motor freight.

|
Saturday morning May 5th, we walked the sign around the church and
placed it on the footings. Wow...looks good!!

Rev. Robert looks on while
John Conner helps his son David cut away the wooden form. Note. David
is the one actually working.

 |
|
The rest of the sign is assembled and Pastor Robert Hill starts
the process of putting up letters.

 |
|
The final product, wired and ready for service.
Praise be to God.
